I didn’t get fat over night.
I won’t lose weight over night.
And I can’t change all of my habits over night either.
So I’m starting slow. Slower than I want to, really, but some progress is no progress.
Right now, I’m taking small steps.
I still have a big girl appetite, and I don’t want to be hungry and fixated on food all day, so I’m still putting a lot of food in my stomach. But, instead of junk, I’m eating more fruits and vegetables. More lean white meat. Less sugar.
Exercising is hard. And it hurts. And it makes breathing more complicated than a basic human instinct should be. So, small steps again. I’m standing at work more. I’m taking advantage of my private office and using a couple of minutes every hour to do jumping jacks, or wall sits, or push ups.
I know it’s not the same as eating right and exercising, but it’s BETTER than eating junk food and sitting on my ass, yeah?
